Apple Vision Pro is a spatial computing headset that brings the power of a computer straight to your face, no matter where you are. Key features include:

  • Apple M2 processor with 8-core CPU, 10-core GPU, and 16-core Neural Engine

  • 3D, 100Hz Micro-OLED display

  • 256GB storage capacity, 16GB RAM, 2 hour battery life

  • Spatial audio and video playback supporting Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision

About the Fit. If you buy the Apple Vision Pro, Apple needs measurements to provide the proper Light Seal and head bands. Our rental units all have the same standard configuration, and after a number of testers have used the headset, we can confidently say our units should fit with some adjustments. The only notable difference is the amount of light bleed around the headset, but this didn’t significantly impact the experience and didn’t hinder functionality at all. Please note, the Vision Pro does not support glasses. If you require corrective lenses, you’ll need to use contacts with headsets from Lensrentals. Units purchased from Apple can be configured with prescription lenses built in.

Don’t Call It VR. The Apple Vision Pro is more than the standard VR headset we’ve come to love (or hate). While everything you see on the stunning Micro-OLED display and all its 23 million pixels is digital, it’s also a virtual recreation of your actual surroundings. Furthermore, the Vision Pro prides itself on providing real-world applications of VR and AR technology- while you can play games just like you would on other headsets, the Vision Pro has the same processor as the M2 MacBook Pro, making it powerful enough to run well-loved apps like Adobe Lightroom, Microsoft 365, Slack, Zoom, and more, with even more set to come in the future.

Mac Integration While the Vision Pro can’t quite run MacOS apps on its own, it can pair with your Mac to run a Virtual Display at up to 4K resolutions. The paired mouse and keyboard will continue to work while using the Virtual Display, and the Vision Pro itself works with Apple bluetooth keyboards and the Magic Trackpad (but not a third-party mouse) even if you aren’t paired with a computer. Unlike a Mac, however, you can run almost any iOS or iPadOS app alongside the Virtual Display, giving you the freedom to resize and position windows however you want within the virtual, 3D space.

Look Ma, Just Hands! The Vision Pro headset features six tracking cameras, a TrueDepth Camera, two high-resolution main cameras, and a LiDAR scanner, all working together to virtually recreate your environment. The best part? It uses your hands as the primary input method. The four eye-tracking cameras on the inside keep an eye on what you’re looking at so that when you make the necessary pinching motion, no matter where your hands are, it knows what to select.

Great for Entertainment. If you ever wanted to watch a movie while someone else was using the TV, or while on a commute, the Vision Pro makes the experience unforgettable with features like Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, and spatial audio. The built-in speakers point straight to your ears, but you can still hear your surroundings, and if someone approaches you, they’ll appear on your display. Speaking of that display, it has more pixels than a 4K TV for each eye, making video sharper and clearer than you’ve ever seen it.

Privacy. Security is important to Apple, so they developed a new authentication system called Optic ID, ensuring only you can use your headset. Optic ID scans your iris, which is as unique an identifier as your fingerprint, to keep your data safe. Paired with Apple ID, the Vision Pro is difficult to access from anyone else. Because of this, it’s important that every unit be properly reset at the end of your rental period prior to shipping.

How To Reset Vision Pro. Just signing out of apps and deleting your data isn’t enough- we need you to completely erase the Vision Pro before sending it back to us, or we won’t be able to use it. First, make sure you’ve signed out of your Apple ID. In the Settings app, go to General, then Transfer or Reset This Apple Vision Pro. If you have another unit you want to transfer your settings to, you can follow the prompts to do so. You must select Erase All Content and Settings when you’re finished with your rental.

Q & A

Why is the battery life so short?
  • The Vision Pro headset doesn’t have a built-in battery but uses a cable to connect a small battery pack to the headset. Because of the processing power of the device, the battery pack only provides up to 2 hours of use on a single charge. If you aren’t planning on moving, however, the battery pack can be plugged in to a USB-C charger and the headset can be used for much longer.

Does Vision Pro support MacOS apps?
  • No. VisionOS natively supports most iOS and iPadOS apps, but if you want to use Mac apps, you’ll have to pair a computer with the headset and run a Virtual Display.

I wear glasses. Is there a spacer I can use?
  • No. Unfortunately, the Vision Pro does not support glasses in any capacity. If you require corrective lenses, you’ll have to use contacts.

  • If you purchase Vision Pro from Apple, it can be configured with prescription lenses built in.

How do I reset Vision Pro?
  • You must sign out of your Apple ID and completely erase and reset the headset before returning your rental unit.

  • After signing out, go to the Settings app and select General, then Transfer or Reset This Apple Vision Pro. Select Erase All Content and Settings and you’re ready to pack it back up. If you do not sign out and erase the headset, we will be unable to use it ourselves. Don’t skip this step.

Will this headset fit me?
  • While Apple offers 28 light seal sizes, we currently only offer one configuration. After testing on numerous heads of different sizes, we’re confident this configuration should work for most people.

  • The only notable difference between size configurations is the amount of light bleed, but we don’t find this to hinder functionality at all or significantly impact the experience.
