The Anamorphic Look. As part of the Atlas Mercury series, the Atlas Mercury 42mm T2.2 Full-Frame 1.5x Anamorphic provides an enhanced, clean, oval-shaped bokeh you might expect out of more expensive anamorphics. The Mercurys produce a unique but well-controlled, nearly edge-to-edge golden lens flare when a direct light source hits their glass. They produce ultra-crisp images, and they’re optimized to make a variety of skin tones look their best.
Standardized Features. All the Mercury Anamorphic lenses have the same front lens diameters, and focus and iris ring positions. This allows for super-fast lens changes just by swinging your matte box and dropping your follow focus without moving their positions. Markings in feet appear on both sides making it easy for ACs and focus-pullers to do their jobs. The entire Mercury series boasts the same industry-prevalent 0.8 pitch gears and 95mm front diameters.
Compatibility. This lens’s 36.7mm x 25.5mm imaging area covers full-frame, 16:9, 3:2, and 4:3 sensors with easy delivery to 2:1, 2.25:1, 2.66:1, and 2.4:1. If you have questions regarding sensor coverage, please contact us and a tech will be happy to help you determine whether this lens is right for your shoot.
Full-Frame 1.5x Anamorphic. This lens’s 1.5x optical design gives you many of the popular visual characteristics found in the traditional 2x cinemascope format—including oblong oval bokeh, barrel distortion, and shallow depth of field—while keeping its build comparatively compact and lightweight.
Yes! For an on-camera monitor solution we recommend the SmallHD 7-inch 702 Touch HDMI / SDI On-Camera Monitor or the SmallHD 1703 P3X 17-inch Studio Monitor with either Gold Mount or V-Mount for a production monitor solution. Please note, the de-squeeze feature on any monitor will typically rely on your specific camera’s output.
