Programmable Tripod Head. The Benro Polaris Astro Edition 3-Axis Smart Tripod Head is a programmable electric tripod head with an integrated camera interface controller. You can use the Benro Polaris iOS app to program the head to capture a sequence of shots, create high-res motion time-lapses, and track and capture long exposures of stars and other celestial bodies, among other things.

Bluetooth Connectivity. You can use the integrated Bluetooth functionality to remotely control the Polaris Astro Edition, and to preview, review, and download files via the aforementioned app.

Power and Memory. The Polaris Astro Edition has a roughly 24-hour battery life, and you can charge it while you’re using it. There’s a microSD card slot to ensure that you don’t lose any of your captured images, and to help with quick editing. The Polaris can quickly render and display path-lapses, panoramas, and the like on your smartphone.

Picture Modes. This tripod head includes People Remover, Panorama, Motion Timelapse, Dynamic Exposure Timelapse, Focus Stacking, and Star Tracking modes, all of which work with a broad range of cameras when paired with the right separately available camera-control cable.

Camera-Control Cable Required. You’ll need a camera-control cable to use this tripod head with your camera. We don’t include one with this rental because there isn’t a one-size-fits-all option, but the Benro Polaris USB Type-C Camera Control Cable, Benro Polaris Micro-USB Camera Control Cable, and Benro Polaris Mini-USB Camera Control Cable are each available as separate rental items.

Durable Build. The Polaris has a durable aluminum-alloy and stainless-steel build that’s designed to withstand the harshest conditions, and it has an IPX6 water-resistant rating.
