The Blackmagic Design ATEM Television Studio Pro 4K8 Switcher is an all-in-one live streaming switcher designed to be a great addition to any streaming production. Key features include:
Streaming support, USB & M.2 recording
Eight 12G-SDI inputs
Customizable electronic LCDs
Redesigned buttons and layout
Small Changes Come In Small Packages. In comparison to its predecessor, the HD8 Switcher, the Blackmagic Design ATEM Television Studio Pro 4K8 Switcher boasts 4K rather than HD live streaming. Most everything else is the same, including its compact design that offers eight SDI inputs, allowing you to connect up to eight different cameras. Professional camera control, two aux outputs, talkback, and audio mixing are also included to put this unit at the top of your list for pristine live production. Additionally, with the built-in hardware streaming engine, you have the ability to live stream globally and record to H.264 files with AAC audio, meaning you get the correct format at the forefront to upload to video services like Youtube.
Designed With Simplicity In Mind. This switcher boasts a totally redesigned front panel that includes high-end type buttons for recording and streaming control, selecting sources, triggering transitions, and setting up video effects. The built-in T-bar enables manual transition control, and the front panel also houses an innovative audio mixer-control area which allows live metering on a dedicated LCD. Live aux switching is incorporated to let you change aux outputs between all 8 cameras, program, preview, or the multiview. Past the front panel, you’ll find features on the board such as built-in ATEM Advanced Chroma Keyers, Fairlight audio mixer, DVE, still store for graphics, and more. Most of these features can be manipulated using the front panel, but all features can be customized using the free ATEM Software Control on macOS or Windows.
Easy Setup. To get things rolling with this switcher, it’s quite simple: just press any of the program row buttons on the front panel to cut between video sources, or pre-select a source on the preview row and then choose between cut or effect transitions by selecting the cut or auto buttons. Once you get to the video source you’d like to cut from, you can select from exciting transitions, such as dissolve, or more dramatic effects, such as dip to color, DVE squeeze, and DVE push.
Additional Features. This unit offers four ATEM Advanced Chroma Keyers, perfect for broadcast settings or green screen effects in general. These incredibly powerful chroma keyers feature a color picker to sample background colors for automatic generation of the key parameters, precise controls for edge and flare, and there is even a foreground color corrector, so you can match the foreground and background layers for seamless compositions. In addition to the chroma keyers, a built-in DVE is included to reposition graphics and create picture-in-picture compositions, and a SuperSource multi-layer processor adds an additional 4 DVE layers, plus a background layer, all layered together as an additional input source.
With this rental, you’ll receive a 7’ ethernet cable for configuring the switcher prior to use.
If you feel you’ll need a bit longer of a cable, we have the Belden 150ft Ethernet Cable and the Belden 150ft Ethernet Cable Extension as separate rental items.
Yep! This updated switcher includes a built-in hardware streaming engine that allows you to live stream globally.
There is no ISO version of the 4K8. This model will only record the program output of the switcher to USB-C SSDs. However, you should be aware that the recordings are HD and not 4K when recording to disk.
