The Canon 50mm f/1.4 is a solid, affordable 50mm lens that’s good for group portraits or spontaneous outdoor photos. Key features include:
Great in dim lighting
f/1.4 aperture
Compact build
Great value
Fast Aperture Prime Lens. The Canon 50mm f/1.4 is a solid, affordable 50mm lens that features a f/1.4 aperture. The wide aperture allows this lens to be used in dim lighting, but it shows better sharpness stopped down to f/2.0 or so. The lens blurs backgrounds nicely, but because of its wider depth of field it can’t do nearly as good a job as the 85mm lenses can.
Great For Portraits. It’s a good lens for group portraits or spontaneous indoor pictures, especially when you don’t want to bother everyone with your flash.
