24.2MP APS-C CMOS Sensor. The Canon EOS R100’s 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor produces high-resolution still images, and high-quality cropped UHD 4K 24p, uncropped Full HD 60p, and slow-motion HD 120p video. The DIGIC 8 image processor also offers improved low-light performance with a native ISO sensitivity of 100-12800, which can be extended to 100-25600, and it supports continuous shooting rates up to a modest 6.5 fps.

Dual-Pixel CMOS Autofocus. Canon’s Dual-Pixel CMOS autofocus system uses 3975 autofocus points in 143 zones to provide extremely fast, accurate, and smooth performance in a fashion similar to how camcorders acquire focus, making it great for tracking moving subjects. Its Eye Detection AF mode prioritizes focus on your subject’s eye for maximum sharpness, which is especially handy for portraiture.

Creative Assist and Creative Filters. This camera has a range of filters and settings that you can use to creatively enhance your images. These are similar to effects found in popular smartphone apps, and you can easily apply them in real time or after you’ve finished your shoot.

Connectivity Options. The R100’s built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity lets you control the camera and review images from a compatible iOS/Android device with Canon’s Camera Connect app. The R100 also has a USB-C port, a micro-HDMI port, and a 3.5mm input for capturing high-quality audio from an external mic.

Body Design, Memory, and Power. The R100 records its RAW/JPEG images and video files to a UHS-1 SDHC/XC memory card, but please be aware that it only has one memory-card slot. The camera is powered by the popular LP-E17 rechargeable lithium-ion battery. The integrated 2.36m-dot OLED EVF gives you bright, eye-level monitoring, while the large, fixed 3.0-inch 1.04m-dot LCD monitor is great for menu navigation and image review.

Can I use my Canon EF-M mirrorless lenses on this camera?

Unfortunately not. Canon’s RF-mount system is in no way compatible with their EF-M crop-frame mirrorless lenses. RF camera bodies will only accept RF mount lenses.

Can I use my Canon EF-mount lenses on this camera?

Since this is an entirely different physical mount, EF mount lenses won’t natively fit.
However, you can use the EF-EOS R Mount Adapter / Control Ring Mount Adapter, which are available as separate rental items, to mount EF and EF-S lenses to RF-mount cameras.
