The Canon VIXIA HF G60 consumer camcorder is an upgrade to the popular HF G50. Key features include:

  • 1-inch 13.4MP 4K UHD CMOS sensor

  • 25.5 to 382.5mm f/2.8-4.5 15x optical zoom lens

  • Records up to 150 Mbps UHD 4K/30p & 35 Mbps 1080/60p

  • Five-axis image stabilization

What’s Changed? The biggest change from the HF G50 to the Canon VIXIA HF G60 is the larger, upgraded sensor. The transition from the much smaller 1/2.3" sensor to this updated 1" sensor allows for much better low light performance and the addition of Canon’s very capable Dual-Pixel autofocus system. You also get a slightly closer 0.4-inch minimum focusing distance. Like the G50, the G60 is capable of recording UHD 4K30p at 150 Mbps and only records to MP4. If there’s a downside to the larger 1" sensor in this generation’s camera, it is the slower, shorter 25.5 to 382.5mm f/2.8-4.5 integrated lens.

Compact & Easy to Use. The Canon VIXIA line of camcorders is a fantastic option for first time videography or situations requiring a compact, no-fuss option for video. Attach the battery, insert and format your SD card (not included), and you’re ready to film with a fully outfitted weight of only 2.1 lbs.

Image Stabilized Zoom Lens. The attached lens has a 15x zoom ratio with a 35mm equivalent zoom range of 25.5 to 382.5mm. The lens works in conjunction with the sensor for 5 axes of stabilization to ensure smooth handheld shooting.

Other Notable Features. Dual SD card slots keep you shooting longer without stopping to swap cards. The camera has two options for viewing your image with a flip-out, 3-inch, capacitive-touch LCD and a tiltable rear electronic viewfinder.

Q & A

Does this rental include A/V cables or a remote?

  • No. Canon does not include A/V cables or a remote control with this camera, so they are not available from us.

Does this camera include a USB cable for transferring footage?

  • No. We strongly recommend using a dedicated card reader to transfer footage. If you don’t have an SD card reader, a good option would be the Lexar USB3.0 Dual-Slot Reader.
