The Canon XA75 is a compact, lightweight 4K-capable prosumer camcorder and an update to the XA55. Key features include:
1-inch 4K UHD CMOS sensor
25.5 to 382.5mm f/2.8 to 4.5 15x optical zoom lens
160 Mbps UHD 4K/30p & 45 Mbps 1080/60p recording
BNC 3G-SDI and mini HDMI outputs for external monitoring
Pro-Grade UHD 4K Camcorder. The Canon XA75 gives you a pro-grade 4K UHD camcorder in a compact package. It carries over the 4K 1-inch CMOS sensor and DIGIC DV6 image processor from the XA55, meaning that it’s capable of XF-AVC recordings in UHD 4K30p at 160 Mbps and in oversampled Full HD 1080p60 at 45 Mbps. You also get MP4 recordings in 4K30p at 150 Mbps and in oversampled Full HD 1080p60 at 17 Mbps.
Compact and Easy to Use. The Canon XA camcorders are a fantastic option for first-time videographers or for situations requiring a compact, no-fuss camcorder. Despite its small stature, the XA75 features BNC 3G-SDI and mini HDMI outputs for external monitoring and a detachable top handle with two XLR audio inputs. Attach the battery, insert and format your UHS-I SD cards (not included), and you’re ready to film with a fully outfitted weight of only 3.2 lbs.
Fast, Accurate Face-Detection Autofocus. In addition to its adjustable focusing speeds, the XA75 also includes a hybrid autofocus system that offers fast and accurate performance. Simply press the AF point on the camera’s LCD to set focus and you’re ready to go. There are also Face-Detection AF and Face-Tracking AF modes, and a manual-focus mode that you can set using the focus/zoom ring.
Image-Stabilized Zoom Lens. The attached f/2.8 to 4.5 lens has a 15x zoom ratio with a 35mm equivalent zoom range of 25.5 to 382.5mm. The lens works in conjunction with the camera’s sensor for 5 axes of image stabilization that ensure smooth hand-held shooting, even in low light.
Other Notable Features. Dual UHS-I SD card slots keep you shooting longer without needing to stop to swap out cards. The camera has two options for viewing your image with a flip-out, 3.5-inch, capacitive-touch LCD and a tiltable rear OLED electronic viewfinder. It can also stream HD video to a PC or Mac via UVC1, although it doesn’t support audio output through USB. An On-Screen Display recording mode embeds date, time, timecode, and other relevant data in your original camera files, essentially time-stamping each frame of your footage.
No. We strongly recommend using a dedicated card reader to transfer footage. If you don’t have an SD card reader, a good option would be the Lexar USB 3.0 Dual-Slot Reader.
Canon does not include A/V cables or a remote control with this camera, so they’re not included with this rental.
