Set Up & Stream. The Nano is a highly portable, feature-rich encoder that simplifies remote workflows with broad streaming support, allowing you to stream to any CDN using modern protocols like SRT, HLS, or MPEG-DASH, or more common protocols like RTMP or RTMPS, all in a rugged, desktop enclosure. Software-based tools allow for video scaling, customizing your aspect ratio, and tailoring your stream with personalized backgrounds, text overlays, and picture-in-picture or side-by-side effects.
Versatile I/Os. Epiphan’s Pearl Nano is equipped with dual HDMI 2.0 and 12G-SDI inputs (one each), an assignable HDMI output as well as a zero-latency HDMI passthrough, two line-level analog XLR inputs, and a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack for monitoring audio directly from the device. The Nano supports an input resolution range from 640 × 480 to 1920 × 1080, up to 60 fps, and video input color spaces up to RGB 4:4:4.
Purpose-Built Control. The Pearl Nano allows for basic configuration and control directly from the local console via the on-board menu navigation, streaming, and record buttons, and using the front screen as an interface or reference monitor. For more advanced configurations, an intuitive browser-based web remote can be accessed from a mac or windows computer, using the included ethernet cable. Need a USB-C or TB3 adapter? No problem! We offer one here, as a separate rental item.
No-Fuss Networking & Security. This device can be easily added to any network using DHCP or static IP, and comes standard with an assemblage of security features including LDAP support for corporate domain integration, 802.1x network access control to prevent unauthorized access, and HTTPS/SSL support for environments where providing your own certificates is preferred.
Shielded, Scalable, SRT Contributions. Before your initial login to the Admin Panel, you will be prompted to assign passwords for an administrator, operator, and viewer. These user levels allow the administrator to assign or change passwords, restrict channels and IP addresses, and limit the configuration and control options of remote operators. Admin privileges can be changed and updated as needed, throughout your production, using the administrator’s login credenitals.
Not Your Average File System. Pearl Nano requires an SD card to store video recordings and supports card capacities ranging from 64 to 512GB (Class 10, U3). The SD card is EXT4 formatted and cannot be used to transfer recorded files to standard Windows machines so we recommend renting an external SSD for simple file transfers in addition to an SD card. Recordings can also be downloaded over the network using the Admin Panel or through the third party content management software of your choosing.
AC Power w/ PoE Support. This streaming device can be powered using the included ac adapter but is rated for PoE+ for powering over ethernet with separately available, compatible switches like the TP-LINK 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet Poe+ Switch, ideal when incorporating the Nano into larger network operations.
Unfortunately, we have no access to assigned user information during rental periods. If you lose a password during your rental, you will either need to control the device through the on-board buttons and screen or perform a factory reset and reassign a new password.
We wipe all user data from the device between rentals so there will be no assigned password by default.
Since the device is designed to have scalable access, you will be prompted to assign a password to the admin, operator, and viewer of a project before logging into the admin panel.
By default, the Pearl Nano is set to DHCP but can configured for a static ip address using the front controls.
The default static ip address is 192.168.10.1 and can be used as the web remote URL with correct network settings.
No, this device is only capable of encoding a single video source at a time.
