The Leica 28mm f/1.4 Summilux-M ASPH is a fast-aperture wide-angle lens designed for Leica M-mount cameras. Key features include:
Great for landscape, street, and architectural shooting
Shallow depth of field and great low-light performance
High-contrast images with excellent color rendition
Edge correction for vignetting on compatible cameras
Wide Angle. The 28mm focal length is popular for landscape, street, documentary, and architectural shooting. It straddles the line of being wide angle, yet has very little of the “wide-angle distortion” you’d see in the likes of a 24mm lens.
Fast Aperture. The fast aperture enables shallow depth of field and great low-light performance.
Advanced Optical Design. As part of the Summilux family, the 28mm f/1.4 features top-of-the-line optics. It uses one aspherical element and one floating element to minimize aberrations and distortion, regardless of focus distance. Its seven anomalous partial-dispersion elements and three cemented elements ensure high-contrast images with accurate color reproduction.
Optimized For Leica. This lens’s 6-bit encoding provides automatic edge correction for vignetting on compatible Leica M-mount cameras. Please note that if you’re using the lens with an adapter on a mirrorless camera, the camera won’t transmit EXIF data.
