The Leica Summicron-SL 35mm f/2 ASPH is a versatile wide-angle prime for full-frame L-mount cameras. It was designed with an eye toward exceptional resolution and detail. Key features include:
Highly corrected optical design; bright maximum aperture
Fast, quiet autofocus system with inner direct drive
Compact, lightweight, weather-sealed construction
L-mount lens
Highly Corrected Optical Design. The Leica Summicron-SL 35mm f/2 ASPH has a nine-group/eleven-element optical design that incorporates three aspherical elements that correct distortion and spherical aberrations for the utmost image sharpness and clarity.
Bright Maximum Aperture. The 35mm’s bright f/2 maximum aperture gives you precise focus-position control when you’re working with shallow depth-of-field techniques. It also lets you work in a range of lighting conditions.
Fast, Quiet Autofocus. Leica’s Summicron-SL lenses use the Dual Syncro Drive autofocus system. Like the name implies, this system uses two small stepping motors that allow going from minimum focus distance to infinity in fractions of a second.
Solid, Lightweight Construction. All of the complex internals are wrapped up in a rugged, weather-sealed chassis. The AquaDura coatings found on this lens’s exposed elements and seals mean you can rest easy if you get caught out in harsh conditions. The omission of optical image stabilization gives the 35mm a lightweight, compact build.
L-Mount Alliance. As with all L-mount lenses, the Leica Summicron-SL 35mm f/2 ASPH is compatible with a number of cameras from its native Leicas to Panasonic’s L-mount offerings.
This lens isn’t compatible with Leica M-mount cameras, only with L-mount camera bodies.
