The Nikon 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED AF-S VR brings the superzoom to FX-sensor cameras (and can be used on DX sensors, too). Key features include:
10.5x zoom range
18-inch minimum focusing distance at every focal length
4-stop image stabilization
Fast, nearly silent autofocus
10.5x Zoom and 18-Inch Minimum Focus. The obvious appeal is the 10.5x zoom range and a rather spectacular 18-inch minimum focusing distance at every focal length. The VR II image stabilization allows you to handhold your camera at up to four shutter speeds slower than would otherwise be possible, assuring dramatically sharper still images and stable video capture.
High-Quality Optical Design. The lens has nine aperture blades for producing smooth out-of-focus highlights, two extra-low dispersion elements, and three aspherical elements. It has internal focusing so filters are easy to use, and the Silent Wave Motor provides fast, nearly silent autofocus.
