The Nikon Z 28-135mm f/4 PZ is one of the first ENG-style motorized zoom lenses for the Nikon Z mount. Key features include:
Customizable Power Zoom. Designed to provide superior performance for video recording, the Nikon Z 28-135mm f/4 PZ lens will go from a sweeping establishing shot to an extreme closeup with ease thanks to the 11-speed zoom rocker and versatile focal range. The lens length stays constant throughout the zoom range and is engineered to maintain center of gravity during zooming, which is ideal for gimbal setups. These features give you more control over your framing, whether directly with the integrated zoom rocker or remotely with NX Tether, SnapBridge, or NX Field. Reach up to 270mm in 4K when using Hi-Res Zoom on compatible cameras.
Endless Flexibility. This all-in-one performer covers an essential set of focal lengths and offers agility for documentarians, news gatherers, or creators/solo shooters who need to lighten their gear loads without giving up advanced functionality. These advanced features include knurled focus and zoom rings that are compatible with follow focus systems and suppressed focus breathing.
Try it with These Z-mount Cameras. The Nikon Z 28-135mm f/4 PZ has a high-resolving power that’s compatible with 8K cameras, which gives editors the flexibility to crop footage and still comfortably output 4K. It is at home with full-frame Z-mount cameras that are also rich in video features, such as the Nikon Z9 and Z8. It is also made with RED’s V-RAPTOR [X] and KOMODO-X 6K in mind, which are equipped with customizable responses (including iris and autofocus) that pair well with this lens.
Currently only the Nikon Z9 and Z8 cameras use this feature when upgraded to at least firmware 5.10.
No, this lens was designed specifically for Nikon’s full-frame Z-mount system. It can also be paired with crop-format Z-mount cameras where the effective field of view is approximately 42-202mm.
“PZ” refers to this lens’s Power Zoom system, which is based around an internal linear motor rather than a conventional ring or mechanical zoom-adjustment method.
