Nikon Z System. The Nikon Z 50-250mm f/4.5-6.3 DX VR was designed specifically for DX-format cameras in Nikon’s Z-mount system. Z-mount lenses only work with Z-mount cameras, and Z-mount cameras are only compatible with Z-mount lenses.
Versatile Telephoto Zoom. With a focal length equivalent to 75-375mm after sensor-crop, the Nikon Z 50-250mm f/4.5-6.3 DX VR covers wide range of telephoto focal lengths that make it great for portraiture and working with distant subjects.
Variable Aperture. The variable f/4.5-6.3 aperture isn’t useful for low-light shooting, so you’ll probably want to stick with outdoor-lighting conditions for best results. The rounded seven-blade diaphragm contributes to smooth, pleasing bokeh for shallow depth-of-field techniques.
Vibration Reduction. The built-in vibration reduction provides up to 5 stops of correction for minimizing camera shake at slower shutter speeds and producing sharper results when shooting hand-held.
High-Quality Optics. The 50-250mm’s seven-group/nine-element optical design includes one extra-low dispersion element that helps produce sharp, high-contrast images and reduce color fringing and aberrations throughout the zoom range. The Super Integrated Coating also helps keep optical aberrations and distortion at bay.
Stepping Motor Autofocus System. This system uses a stepping motor for smooth, nearly silent performance that’s great for stills and video alike. You also get full-time manual focusing for precision adjustments, while the internal-focusing design means that the lens maintains its length during focusing.
Does this lens offer full-frame coverage for use with cameras like the Nikon Z7 / Z6?
No! This lens does not provide an image circle large enough to cover a full-frame sensor.
It is designed for use with crop-frame Z-mount cameras like the Nikon Z 50.
