The OM SYSTEM M.Zuiko Digital ED 150-600mm f/5-6.3 IS is an advanced, expansive super-telephoto zoom designed for Micro 4/3 cameras. Key features include:
Expansive super-telephoto zoom range
High-quality optics for sharp, accurate images
Up to seven stops of optical image stabilization
Fast, smooth, and nearly silent autofocus system
Impressive Super-Telephoto Zoom Range. The OM SYSTEM M.Zuiko Digital ED 150-600mm f/5-6.3 IS’s biggest selling point is the zoom. Its 300-1200mm equivalent focal-length range—which you can extend to 2400mm with a teleconverter—and rounded nine-blade diaphragm make it great for capturing nature, birds, and other wildlife. The variable f/5-6.3 aperture isn’t great for shooting in low light, though, so you’ll probably want to stick with outdoor lighting conditions for best results.
Advanced Optical Design. This lens’s complex 15-group/25-element optical construction includes 4 Super Extra-Low Dispersion elements, 2 Extra-Low Dispersion elements, 6 High-Refractive Index elements, and 1 High-Resolution element. This glass menagerie works together to keep your images razor-sharp and color-accurate while controlling chromatic aberrations and reducing color fringing. The bottom line? This lens makes pretty nice pictures.
Optical image Stabilization. The 150-600mm’s built-in image-stabilization system minimizes the appearance of camera shake, allowing you to shoot hand-held and in other unstable conditions without worrying about your photos’ sharpness. On its own, the IS system gives you six stops of correction on the wide end and five stops on the telephoto end; however, this lens supports Sync IS, which lets you use camera-based sensor-shift IS for seven stops of correction on the wide end and six stops on the telephoto end.
Built-In Autofocus System. The Movie and Still Compatible autofocus system offers fast, smooth, and nearly silent performance, making it ideal for video and still applications. You get a 22-inch minimum focusing distance and a 0.7x maximum magnification, which benefits working with close-up subjects and even telemacro shooting from a distance.
Teleconverter Compatible. Need even more reach? The 150-600mm is compatible with the Olympus MC-14 1.4x Teleconverter and Olympus MC-20 2x Teleconverter; however, we strongly suggest you use a tripod or monopod if you want usable results.
No. This lens is not compatible with the BMPCC4K. The lens receives no power or communication from the camera.
