The Panasonic HC-X2 4K is a compact, professional-grade, fixed-lens UHD 4K video camera that shoots UHD 4K/60p video to SD media. It’s fantastic for live-streaming. Key features include:
Up to UHD 4K60 video with live streaming
1.0" 15.03MP 4K MOS sensor
24.5 to 4901mm f/2.8-4.5 20x optical zoom lens
Dual SD card slots for endless relay recording
High-Sensitivity 4K MOS Sensor. The Panasonic HC-X2 4K features a large 1.0" 15.03MP 4K MOS sensor for recording high-quality images in 4K/HDR, and thirteen-stop HLG and V-Log, all without cropping.
High-Quality Recording Options. The HC-X2 gives you a few options for compression and codecs. It supports recording in the new HEVC codec and high bit-rate recording with LongGOP, giving you UHD 4K60p 8-bit 4:2:0, UHD 4K30p 10-bit 4:2:2, and super slow-motion 1080p 120fps 4:2:0 10-bit, among others. Unlimited relay recording to dual SD slots gives you the flexibility to capture your footage in the way you see fit.
Excellent for Live Streaming. The X2’s feature set makes it great for live streaming, including medium-scale, multi-camera live productions and sporting events. It supports RTMP and it’s RTSP/RTP/RTMP/RTMPS compatible using H.264/MPEG-4 AVC/AAC-LC compression. It supports streaming RTMP-compatible content—like YouTube, Facebook, and other live-video distribution services—and is capable of recording to SD cards in the camera while streaming, provided you’re using a mode below FHD.
Built-In Wi-Fi and Ethernet Capabilities. A built-in Wi-Fi module enables wireless connectivity without requiring a separate wireless LAN module, and lets you use Panasonic’s HC ROP app to enable wireless control of camera and lens settings on up to eight cameras at once. An integrated Ethernet module keeps your stream stable, and you can use an optional USB Ethernet adapter to connect the camera to a wired LAN.
Integrated Zoom Lens. This camera features a fixed lens with a 24.5 to 4901mm equivalent focal-length range. If the already impressive 20x optical zoom isn’t enough range, the I.ZOOM feature enables a maximum 24x digital zoom ratio in UHD 4K and a maximum 32x digital zoom in Full HD.
Five-Axis Hybrid Image Stabilization. The five-axis hybrid image-stabilization system eliminates the need to worry about extra support for those longer focus throws. It provides correction for camera shake, rotational blurring, and other unstable shooting conditions. There are three image-stabilization modes, each designed to best suit a certain type of shooting. Normal mode is standard image stabilization, Stable mode is designed for fixed-frame shooting, and it’s probably no surprise that Pan/Tilt mode is designed to correct footage shot with panning and tilting.
Additional Features. This camera boasts a large 3.5-inch 1.56m-dot LCD touchscreen that lets you control a range of functions, while the tilting high-resolution OLED viewfinder makes shot composition simple. A built-in ND filter system offers Clear, 1/4ND, 1/16ND, and 1/64ND presets, and a built-in IR cut filter. Input and output support like two-channel audio, simultaneous SDI and HDMI out, and timecode input and output makes this a go-to for shooters in the field or in the studio.
No. This camcorder uses the Panasonic AG-VBR59P battery as a spare. The AG-VBR118G battery will not physically fit the battery compartment.
Yes! This camera requires U3-rated or faster cards for video bit rates above 100 Mb/s.
