Versatile Ultra-Wide Macro Zoom. The Panasonic Lumix 14-28mm f/4-5.6 Macro’s 5.9-inch minimum focusing distance and 1:2 to 1:4 magnification ratio make it great for capturing close-up subjects, while its ultra-wide zoom range is well-suited for capturing landscapes, cityscapes, street scenes, and architecture. Its f/4.5-5.6 aperture is plenty fast for daytime use, but you probably won’t want to shoot too much in low light with this lens. A rounded seven-blade diaphragm helps produce pleasing bokeh, and micro-step aperture control gives you smooth exposure changes and pro-quality videos.
L-Mount Alliance. This ultra-wide lens mount is a joint collaboration between Leica, Panasonic, and Sigma that’s focused on a line of premium cameras & lenses in a mirrorless format. At 51.6mm mount diameter and just 20mm flange distance, the L-mount is well-suited for fast-aperture full-frame optics with compact dimensions.
Advanced Optical Design. The ten-group/fourteen-element optical formula includes one aspherical Extra-Low Dispersion element, one aspherical element, three Extra-Low Dispersion elements, and one Ultra High Refractive Index element to reduce chromatic aberrations and distortion while delivering beautiful, color-accurate images across the zoom range.
Fast, Accurate Autofocus. The motor provides fast, accurate, nearly silent autofocus performance for still and video use, and Panasonic claims the autofocus system supports frame rates up to 240 fps. You can use the AF/MF switch to easily toggle between autofocus and manual focus modes.
Durable Build. This lens’s dust- and splash-resistance build makes it usable in inclement conditions. A fluorine coating on the front lens elements protects it from debris and smearing.
No! While Panasonic has a wide variety of Micro 4/3 cameras and lenses, the L mount used in this line is a completely different mount from Micro 4/3.
