The Rode VideoMic Pro Plus On-Camera Shotgun Microphone is an excellent mono supercardioid condenser shotgun mic designed for on-camera video capture. Key features include:

Professional-Quality Audio Capture. The Rode VideoMic Pro Plus On-Camera Shotgun Microphone outputs a dual-mono signal, and boasts improved response and RF immunity compared to its predecessor. It can capture primary and reference audio for camcorders, DSLRs, and portable recorders.
Three-Way Level Control. This level-control feature offers -10 dB, 0 dB, and +20 dB modes.
High-Pass Filter. A high pass filter with 0 Hz, 75 Hz, and 150 Hz settings allows you reduce the effects of low-frequency hum, camera motor noise, and other external interference.
Power Supply. The VideoMic Pro is rated for 100 hours of use on a single charge of the included LB-1 battery, but can also be powered by two AA batteries (not included).
3.5mm Mini-Jack Output. The VideoMic Pro Plus features a locking 3.5mm mini plug, making it compatible with a wide variety of different cameras and audio devices. We upgraded the default non-locking cable Rode sends by default to a higher quality locking angled version.
Additional Features. The microphone is equipped with an Rycote integrated shock mount, and has a standard camera shoe and a 3/8" threaded mount for easy attachment to cameras and boom poles.
