The Sennheiser AVX Digital Wireless Lavalier Pro Set is everything you need to transmit wireless lavalier audio to an XLR or 1/8" mini jack capable camera or recorder. Key features include:
Encrypted 24 bit wireless lavalier audio from up to 100 feet
Built-in XLR plug for cable-less camera attachement
1/8" DSLR mini plug adapter included
Rechargeable, internal battery pack
Encrypted 24 Bit Audio From 100 Feet. The Sennheiser AVX Digital Wireless Lavalier Pro Set transmits wireless lavalier audio in 24 bit quality up to about 100 feet in normal operation conditions. The kit is designed for simple, plug-and-play set up with automatic sensitivity adjustment and automatic frequency switching to ensure clean audio is sent through a clean channel. With its focus on simplicity the AVX kit lacks the finer RF background options of the Sennheiser G3 system. The AVX kit works in the 1.9 GHz band. It’s license free, and theoretically the only other kinds of products that use this range are cordless telephones.
MKE 2 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone. The MKE2 series mini lavalier microphone features a reduced sensitivity to provide lower distortion and better handling of high SPL. The mic is omnidirectional for a more consistent frequency capture when audio sources veer off-axis and is tuned for flat frequency response to accurately reproduce voices and instruments.
AVX Bodypack Transmitter. The body pack transmitter included with the AVX kit has a rugged metal housing and rechargeable BA 30 battery that will power the unit for 10 to 15 hours dependant upon the working range of your project. Of course, it works great with the included MKE-2 lav, but it’s also compatible with other mics sporting a 3.5mm plug and 2.2V RMS input or line level sources with a max input of 3.3V RMS. AES 256 encryption means that the paired receiver is the only device capable of listening to transmitted audio.
AVX EKP Wireless Receiver. The EKP receiver will be the most interesting change for those coming from the Sennheiser G3 system. An XLR connector is built into the unit and gets rid of the need for an additional cable and mounting solution for receivers. Just plug it into the XLRport of your camera or recorder, and voila. You’re now mounted and ready to record. The XLR port twists to make attaching easier, and the unit can read the phantom power output of your device to turn on and off automatically. You don’t have an XLR port on your camera? No worries. We include an XLR to 1/8" (3.5mm) adapter cable for plugging in to mirrorless and DSLR cameras with mini plug audio ports. Expect four hours of continuous use before having to swap the receiver’s BA 20 battery.
