The Sennheiser MKE 440 Compact Stereo Shotgun Microphone uses two internally mounted mini shotgun mics to capture focused stereo sound. Key features include:
Runs on two AAA batteries
Stainless steel micro-mesh cover
Captures sound within camera angle
Two shotgun elements
V-Shaped Audio. The Sennheiser MKE 440 Compact Stereo Shotgun Microphone consists of two super-cardioid pickup pattern microphones that are connected to a specially developed patented shockmount. This unit uses it’s v-shaped nature to generate stereo sound that isn’t usually attainable with shotgun mics, and
Rugged, Protective Design. Both mics are encompassed by a stainless steel micro-mesh not only for protection, but also to serve as a shield against electromagnetic interference and provide wind suppression. As opposed to your regular foam windscreens, the metal mesh will not influence the sound by muffling high frequency clarity.
Shock Your Mount. The specially developed patented shockmount is designed to combat structure-born noise when being handled, specifically when the camera that this unit is attached to is moved. The shockmount is exactly adjusted to the weight and dimensions of shotgun microphone tube to ensure optimal rejection of handling noise.
High Dynamic, High Powered. This unit is powered by two AAA batteries that are separately available for rent, and offer a runtime of 100 hours. The integrated high dynamic electronic circuit matches the output signal of the MKE 440 to the camera’s input sensitivity, allowing it to handle a large range of sounds. The low cut filter reduces structure-borne noise and low-frequency wind noise.
The Sennheiser MKE 440 Compact Stereo Shotgun Microphone is powered by two AAA batteries, which aren’t included with this rental. Panasonic Eneloop Pro AAA Ni-MH 950mAh 4-pack and Nitecore New i4 Intellicharger are available as separate rental items.
