Full-Frame E-mount. As a part of the FE line of lenses, the FE 100mm f/2.8 STF GM OSS is designed for Sony full-frame cameras like the a7 series. It’s also fully compatible with APS-C cameras, on which it’ll provide a 150mm equivalent focal length.

Pro-Grade Portrait Lens. The FE 100mm f/2.8 STF GM OSS’s fast f/2.8 aperture and short tele focal length make it perfect for portrait photography. The Smooth Trans Focus system’s apodization filter works in tandem with the eleven-blade diaphragm to create smooth bokeh with rounded out-of-focus highlights.

Image Stabilization. An Optical SteadyShot image-stabilization system minimizes the appearance of camera shake, giving you sharp images even when you’re shooting hand-held at lower shutter speeds. The SteadyShot system will work with select cameras’ built-in sensor-shift image stabilization for even more effective blur control.

Direct Drive SSM Autofocus System. This internal focusing system provides fast, nearly silent, and highly accurate autofocus performance that’s great for still and video use. A dedicated focus hold button and AF/MF switch help to tailor focusing to your shooting needs. There’s also a manual aperture ring that can be “de-clicked” for smooth aperture adjustment when shooting video.

Advanced Optics. The FE 100mm f/2.8 STF GM OSS’s eleven-group/fourteen-element design includes one aspherical element and one extra-low dispersion element to minimize spherical and chromatic aberrations, and to produce clear, high-contrast images. Nano AR coatings keep flare and ghosting at bay while maintaining color fidelity.
