PTZ Paradise. The Sony FR7 Cinema Line PTZ Camera combines a 4K full-frame sensor and compatibility with Sony E-mount lenses to produce outstandingly expressive, cinematic imagery. This large image sensor provides 15+ stops of dynamic range, captures up to UHD 4K120 video, offers live streaming, and enables you to create shallow depth-of-field bokeh effects. Its base ISO of 800 is expandable from 12,800 to 409,600 for capturing optimal video in an array of lighting conditions.
Compatibility and Functions. The FR7 PTZ offers compatibility with a wide array of E-Mount and G Master lenses. Currently, it takes up to 70 different lenses ranging from 12mm to 1200mm. Sony S-Log3 enables you to capture sharp and wide color, while Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) creates nuanced contrast. The integrated ND filter offers variable ND filtration ranging from 2 stops to 7 stops, allows changes in exposure without affecting your depth of field, and creates shallow depth-of-field effects by adding the ND and opening the iris.
No Losing Control Here. The IP remote function can be used for pan, tilt, zoom (PTZ), focus, recording, playback, and other camera settings. For full PTZ control, you must be using a compatible Sony Power Zoom series lens. Pan and tilt functions move smoothly and enable you to unobtrusively zoom in on the action and reframe accordingly. Using the separately available RM-IP500 Controller puts you in control via a joystick zoom rocker and buttons. Fast hybrid autofocus with face detection and touch tracking is also included and enable you to keep even dynamic action in focus. Please note that a Sony Power Zoom series lens is required for full PTZ control.
Cine-Style Recording. With the S-Cinetone picture profile, you’re able to bring a cinematic look to your PTZ capture and match footage from other Sony cameras. The Cine EI mode with MLUT management can be used with S-Log3 or raw recording, and XAVC recording with metadata capture supports up to 10-bit, 4:2:2 color and HDR recording.
Depending on use, you may need a variety of accessories, cables, or monitors.
If the 15mm Lens Support is pushed up on the rods and left dangling, it can get caught during the boot process and prevent the camera from booting up.
Make sure to push the Lens Support up and back and tighten it before trying to boot the camera.
If you can’t get the RM-IP500 controller to connect to the FR7 camera, make sure that SETUP dip switch #3 on the back of the camera is flipped on to enable VISCA over IP control and then reboot the camera.
You should also verify that the FR7 camera and the RM-IP500 controller are on the same network and subnet configuration.
