10.2MP (effective) Full-Frame CMOS Exmor R Sensor
UHD 4K up to 120 | 1080p up to 240
10-Bit 4:2:2 XAVC S-I,16-Bit RAW Output
Records to dual CFexpress Type A or SD media slots
Recording in 4:2:2 10-bit 4K at 60p. The FX3 Full-Frame Cinema Camera can record internal UHD 4K at 60 fps in a high-bitrate 4:2:2 10-bit XAVC-I codec. Lower bitrate 4K/120p recording is available and scaling down to 1080p allows for frame rates up to 240fps.
RAW Video. Shoot 16-bit 2K-RAW and 4K-RAW video when paired with the ATOMOS Ninja V. Recording RAW provides an enormous amount of detail and information, and it gives you over fifteen stops of dynamic range in your footage.
Dual CFexpress Type A Card Slots. The Sony FX3 uses the latest CFexpress Type A media for the highest bitrate recording and offers a variety of recording options for file spanning and redundancy. The CFexpress slots double as SDXC slots for less demanding frame rates and bitrates.
Built-in Wireless Streaming. Whether controlling via a smartphone or tablet, streaming wirelessly to a client monitor, or wirelessly transferring files to editorial, the FX3 is prepared to handle all of your wireless needs with built-in Wi-Fi .
Center Scan Mode. Center Scan Mode selectively crops a 1,920 × 1,080 image from the sensor’s center, allowing support for traditional Super35 cinema lenses. This gives the FX3 all the characteristics of a Super 35 film camera and avoids any vignetting. The crop mode also gives you a little extra reach when you need it and 1080p works for your project.
Yes. You’ll need an ATOMOS Ninja V and an HDMI cable to record RAW video from the Sony FX3.
